FAQ

  • Structural Integration started over 50 years ago through the work of Dr. Ida Rolf. While it began as a painful modality, scientific advancements and evolution of the work have led modern Rolfing Structural Integration to consist of a variety of touch intended to rehydrate and remap the fascial system without hurting the client. The work can still be deep, and has the potential to reach all parts of our mind/body/spirit/self. Structural Integration was created as a way to organize structures as they function in gravity and other matrices, including cultural, emotional, spiritual, etc. Dr. Rolf’s attention on the fascia of the body created a truly revolutionary form of bodywork. Focusing on posture, alignment and patterns allows Rolfing SI to support the whole individual instead of just parts or pieces. Rolfing SI is famous for its formula of unwinding and reintegrating, traditionally done in a series of 10 sessions which build on each other toward uniform brilliance. As a Certified Advanced Rolfer ® Jeffrey can include more complex Rolfing work or a unique session or series tailored to your level and needs.

  • CranioSacral Therapy is a gentle hands-on holistic modality evaluating and balancing the body and central nervous system. CranioSacral Therapy is usually deeply relaxing and aims to improve the body’s ability to self-heal. It has been shown to help a broad spectrum of pain and dysfunction, including: Migraines and Headaches; Chronic Neck and Back Pain; Stress and Tension-Related Disorders; Spinal Cord Injuries; Anxiety; Depression; PTSD; Vertigo and dizziness; Post-Concussion Symptoms; Chronic Fatigue; Fibromyalgia; TMJ Syndrome; Scoliosis; Central Nervous System Disorders; and many others. CST often creates a safe environment to get in touch with long-held emotions. During this process, SomatoEmotional Release can free the body and mind of residual effects of trauma that are often overlooked as blocks to our return to health.

  • “Seeing the body through the Aston Paradigm changes the way you live. It changes the way you dance, sleep, sit, work, and play. It can even change the way you sing!”

Aston-Patterning®, developed by Judith Aston, is an expansive method of seeing and individualized problem solving. Sessions start with a postural analysis and movement analysis to establish what is needed to help reach your current optimal. This modality is pain free and pain freeing, using a spiraling 3-dimensional touch. Sessions also include movement exercises and practices as well as education on helpful ergonomics for your body. Truly a luxurious unwinding along with a tailored strengthening process and movement education.

  • Heart Centered Therapy uses techniques that are guided by the wisdom of the heart. The heart naturally knows how to heal our consciousness and dissolve beliefs that may have held us in pain, confusion and/or separation. HCT offers deep healing without reliving the trauma.

  • Hakomi is a body-oriented process of therapeutic self-discovery. The Hakomi Method combines somatic awareness with experiential techniques to promote psychological growth and transformation. Hakomi rests on a strong scientific foundation, along with a deep background in Eastern Wisdom. Mindfulness is used as a base for gently directed self-study. Practice of Loving Presence and the qualities of the compassionate observer are at the heart of Hakomi. Magdalena has been studying Hakomi for years and will soon graduate from the Hakomi Institute. Magdalena’s intentions are to integrate and meld together Hakomi and CranioSacral Therapy, creating opportunities for deep healing of personal limiting beliefs and conditioning.

  • Yoga is a Hindu spiritual and ascetic discipline, that includes breath control, simple meditation, and the adoption of specific bodily postures. Yoga is widely practiced for health and relaxation.
